I'm really not an exercise person. I like walking but I don't really consider that exercise - it's just something to get me from A to B. But the government's announcement last week that they are going to make swimming free for everyone as part of the 2012 Olympics inspired me to go for a swim today. And I'd forgotten just how much I enjoyed it.
Unfortunately when I went the pool was full of kids which made my attempts at lengths a bit difficult so next time I go I'll make sure it's when the pool reserves lanes for serious swimmers. Not that I'm a serious swimmer mind; I'm hopeless at front crawl which I consider the serious stroke but I do like to plough up and down doing breast stroke and it's nice not to have people getting in my way. I'm always terrified I'll drown if I bump into someone!!
